I ave read about people asking about the ir remote and that it isnt possible but what if there was a program which used bluetooth to control the tv. Wouldnt this be possible?

not really, IR range on T610 aint to great

edit: whoops, my mistake sorry.

using a pc, the original tv remote, some small motors, some specilised software and hardware... yes

or you could get your partner to leave his/her bluetooth on and bluejack them a message "change the channel love"

now thats an interesting thought!

another possibility might be to have an app on a pc that can control a commericial IR (they do exist) and somehow adapt pccontrol to control that!

I prefer to keep it simple and use a Sony RM-AV3000!

I think there are more helpers around these days such as yourself, wrath, spc (with the underscores), vlam and others. so if what you say is true I hope I have set a good example!
