Unless of course they come up (hopefully in the near future) with a new software or an application (video recorder) compatible with a SE T610.

oh look this has been discussed many times. They may well produce such software but whats the point? the cam is good enough for stills but not good enough for video and where will you store all the video you record?

yeah, of course you could save them to pc but how much are you really going to record into the available space on the T610 in the first place unless you get rid of all your themes, pics, sounds etc and have an empty T610?

Actually, I must agree that having a video recorder in a cellphone wouldn't be such a BIG significance, but I must say too that it was quite helpful (in capturing off-guarded moments w/ loved ones specially little kids around) when I used to have it in my N7650, a phone too with such a minimal memory. It was quite possible to save a few video clippings in the phone without actually the need to erase EVERYTHING in your saved pictures and sounds (I then even had a few wav song files saved, w/c we all know, are bigger files than midi). Though I must admit and agree that all saved items MUST BE REGULATED wisely in order not to go below the critical 500kb free memory.
NOTE: The software I am referring (w/c I used to have) records only video clippings, meaning the duration only last 10-15secs. more or less, if my memory serves me right.

By the way, all these are just for the sake of discussion, I must specify that I am totally satisfied w/ my T610 and no plans at all to change it, it may not be perfect but there is no single phone that is perfect anyway. If improvements and addl. softwares come along in the future, then it will be greatly appreciated specially by me.

just thought of another point.
If the T610 cant save a image in compressed format, (the reason a small pic is about 40KB, and a .gif can be 200kb+), then it probably couldn't save compressed video either. 1MB of uncompressed video etc, would probably get you 0.5 to 1 second of video.
Uncompressed video eats memory like nobodys business. |
