it seems that the T68 doesn't quite like having a car trunk slammed shut on it... when my g/f did that, it broke the LCD display on her T68, although surprisingly, nothing else seems to have been damaged (including the glass screen covering the LCD display). the phone still works and does everything as it should, except of course that you can't see anything except a few flashes of light here and there on the broken LCD display.

has this happened to anyone? is this fixable? anyone have any idea how much it might cost to get this fixed? the phone was bought abroad, so no warranty...

wow, not very cheap...
probably better to order it for US$50 on the GSMsquare website and to try (very carefully!) replacing it myself...

is that what it costs just for the LCD, or is that the cost to have it replaced at the service center?

yep, it doesn't look too pretty with the broken LCD

i didnt ask if it included the service charge/ labor fee. but the price most probably was just for the LCD itself.

ugh. thanks. i guess it'll be expensive to fix at any service center... does anyone have experience opening the phone and replacing any parts (not necessarily just the LCD)? is it difficult to do?

Is the display totally wrecked or just dead? The ericsson warranty is international, you can read that in the manual. (page 82 in my Swedish one) So if its not totally wrecked I will reconfme you to contact an ericsson service-center. Good luck!

Believe me, world wide warranty doesn't actually cover 'the world'!!! In some countries you either buy your phone with or without warranty and in Azerbaijan, my world warranty isn't recognised....

To open the phone and remove the display you will need a screwdriver T6. I bought one for about 8 euro.

i'm afraid it's totally wrecked--it's cracked. it actually makes a nice, colorful pattern, even when the phone is off... when the phone is on, you can see some pixels lighting up here and there on the screen, but that's about it...
