Hello all
I have had three different T39m phones and one T68i diring the last couple of years. I also have a laptop with Windows XP pro and IrDa.
Well, I have been sucessful in using this combination to transfer pictures and melodies from the pc to the phone and vice versa through the IrDa feature.
I have also been able to connect to the internet from the laptop using the phone as a modem, both by GPRS and CSD (through the IrDa link, of course).
Now, here is the problem: I have never suceeded in sending or receiving a fax with the T39m, the IrDa link and the laptop. No problem in doing it with the T68i, but always unsuccessful with the T39m.
I have read this page: http://navasgrp.home.att.net/tech/cingular/fax.htm but no luck.
Of course I have a fax capable line (remember, I got it to work the first time with the T68i).
So, here is an easy question: has anyone in this forum being able to send/receive faxes with a T39m, Windows XP pro and the IrDa link? If yes, please, could you explain step by step how....
As a clue, I am using the fax software that comes with Windows XP pro. Since it works with the T68i, I assume it should also work with the T39m, but if anyone has tried and had success with some other commercial fax software and Windows XP, please let me know.
Thanks very much for any clues.
PS: The T39m I have now has R2S001 firmware, but I also have tried with others with the latest R4A008 firmware and it made no difference: It didn't work either.

I am partially answering myself.
I have obtained from a friend the WinFax Pro 10.02 cd and installed it in my computer.
The T39m fax modem nos seems to work fine with this software, and I have successfully send and received a few test faxes.
Thus it seems that the incompatibility is only with regard to the Windows XP pro fax software. A pity, because it comes with Windows and it is more than enough for my faxing needs, but... anyway...
