Hiding phonebook names in certain profiles/locking hp while in standby mode |

Is there anyway to hid certain phonebook entries? In other words, I have several phonebook entries that I'd like to keep private except when I am in one of my predefined profiles. While in any of the other profiles the names would not appear in the phonebook, nor would they appear on the caller id if a call is received from that individual. Is there a way to set this up in the T610?
Also, is there a way to lock the T610 while in standby mode so that a password must be entered to activate the keys? I have a password for when the phone is first turned on and I can lock the keypad but it doesn't require entering a password to reactivate the keypad.
If you read between the lines I have certain nosey individuals that I don't want to see certain entries in my phonebook and also if the people that I am trying to hide call or sms while I am around this nosey person I don't want the caller id to identify the person.
Any and all suggestions appreciated. If what I am proposing isn't possible with the T610 is there a 3rd party software that I can install to accomplish this or is there another SE which provides this level of customization?
Thanks for all inpout |

you can have the P800 lock after 30 seconds or so and it requires a pin to access after that time....not aware of any ability to do this in T610 but would also be interested if a java app had this security feature. |

@wdeertz
It doesn't look like the T610 has the feature you are looking for. The closest is the Phone Lock option (Settings-Locks-Phone Lock-Protection-On). But this is only applicable when you turn your phone ON, then it will ask for your unlock code (default is 0000).
This is more for protecting the phone when it is stolen. Unlike SIM lock, it only protects the SIM and not the phone.
Suggestions:
1) You may not be able to hide Caller ID because this is a function of the Operator. I can suggest, however, that you might want to use "aliases" for selected "contacts."
2) You can place the "contact" you don't wish to be seen in your SIM's memory. You will notice that all entries saved in your SIM's memory does not appear in your Phonebook when you scroll down. Calling these contacts will, however, be more tedious. To call from SIM memory, you have to select Phonebook-Advanced-Call from SIM then just look for the contact and call. This will not solve Caller ID though. Even if the "contact" is saved on the SIM, when the contact calls, it will still appear on Caller ID.
Your best bet is to use both suggestions. First, use an alias and second, place the contact on your SIM. This way, if the "nosy" person browses through your phonebook, that person won't be able to see the contact information, unless of course the said "nosy" person knows how to work your phone and figures out exactly what I am suggesting here. When the "contact" calls, this should be within your control already as far as Caller ID is concerned. No offense meant, but if you are that paranoid about call traces on your phone, make sure also that you DELETE all calls registered (Calls-Options-Clear Call List). If you want to deactivate this feature so that no calls are registered, go to Calls-Options-Call List-Off).
Sorry for the long reply, just one more point on saving contacts to your SIM. I have not found a way to transfer a contact from the phonebook to the SIM within the phone's functions. But you will be able to do this using a 3rd party software for your PC if you have a cable or IR (i.e., Handset Manager provided when you purchase Mobile Action MA-620 IR Adaptor). In Nokia phones, you have a choice to use Phone Memory, SIM Memory or both. I don't see a similar function in the T610. So maybe you can borrow a friend's Nokia phone, encode the selected numbers you need on the SIM, then you're on your way. Quite tedious but this, I believe, is your best way to go.
By the way, you CAN copy from SIM to the phone, INDIVIDUALLY. But you CANNOT copy from the Phone to the SIM, individually. The only feature the T610 provides as far as copying contacts from Phone to SIM is to COPY ALL contacts.
Hope this helps. Cheers !!!
