I had a sucky 3Com usb dongle athome it worked
after alot of trouble using Mobile Phone Monitor and XTND connect
yesterday I uninstalled the 3com dongle and mpm and xtnd to
make the computer clean then installed my Anycom usb-100 dongle
instead.
Imagen my supprice when I discovered I didn't have to install/use mpm & xtnd anymore it was enough with the anycom software. I can browse files on the T610 w/o problems and I can sync with outlook and I can use applications like christersson PCControl with no problems at all. Seems I loose no functionality w/o thouse programs. It's so much simplier I like it

Are you sure you have uninstalled MPM? Sometimes it remains installed and operational even despite using the uninstall for the communication suite. Only a comand line uinstall would remove it. Check to see if you still got the MPM icon in control panel. My bet is that it's still there.

There are two types of similar icons in the taskbar: one is for XTND, the other one is for MPM (this one will be shown only if you have specifically activated the respective option in MPM). Keep us posted when you get home.

Judge: seems like you are right mpm is still in the controlpanel
even though I uninstalled it and it's not showing in taskbar anymore.
I didn't have time to remove it forcefully yesterday but will do it
later so its totally gona and then try the same.
I got a feeling you might be right here, but its intresting and I'm
gonna try whats happening if mpn is totally gone.

@dw: You don't have to remove it manually. There is an uninstall program. If you go to program files -> sony ericsson (or ericsson depending on the version) mobile phone monitor, you will find a text file which states the command you have to run to uninstall. If I remember right it's "anubisuninst /u"

Wrath is right. I had a scenarios when even the command line uninstall failed, though. If that happens - there may be a a file called "unwise.exe" in the directory. Try using it in conjunction with one of the .log (e.g. uninstall.log) file found in the same directory. Just in case... Good luck and let us know if you're on to something! |
