hmm, having read the important news thread below, I rang orange to check the story.

I spoke to a gentleman who said there will be a press release tomorrow.

basically, the offending chargers are only ones which have written on the back:

made in thailand by delta or with an identification no BML162099/3R1A.

These chargers will be be replaced asap. And the problem only seems to be with newer ones.

That's what you you get for using slave labour - globalisation means crap produce as well as great evil in today's world.....perhaps this will show em.

On stuff that matters.... such as 'which chargers are faulty' it might for a change be USEFUL IF ALL THE INFORMATION IS KEPT IN ONE PLACE.

I have read threads up to 30 pages at times and I'd do it again if it mattered to me
I have NEVER read 30 threads about the same thing tho

Let's try and keep all nfo centralized shall we? yours is only the 4th thread today.... it could get confusing for those who actually HAVE those chargers and are looking for info.

My charger has that code.... problem is i can't just take it to the shop because I'm on o2 online and sending it back to them and waiting for a replacement is going to take forever. They don't exactly have the best customer service

Ther will be an ad in the press tomorrow...hang that...i'll just go and have a look for the number....

"Consumers who identify having a 3-pin UK charger made by Delta with identification number BML 162099/3 R1A, should either visit their retailer for a replacement or call the Sony Ericsson customer care centre. Customers who have experienced problems with their chargers should stop using the charger, remove it from the socket and contact Sony Ericsson customer care centre. A free replacement will be despatched as soon as possible, together with a pre paid envelope for the user to return the charger to Sony Ericsson for inspection.

UK customers should contact: 08705 237 237 Monday to Friday between 9.00 am to 6.00pm and on Saturday between 9.00 am to 5.00pm. Please note that this customer care centre will not be fully operational until Monday 8th September."

That should be right...

After reading this disturbing news, I immediately checked out my charger's markings. It's good info for everyone. Keep them coming so that we can all promote safety.

Thanks
