T610 Firmware for T618? |

I have a t618. In my area i don't know of any sony ericsson service centres but i do have someone who can unlock phones for me as well as upgrade the firmware but he only has R1L firmware for the t610. I was wondering if it was possible to upgrade my t618 with the t610 firmware or is there no difference. Thanks |

Why don't you wait or contact SonyEricsson for an official service centre? You do realise that you'll lose Chinese input if you went with T610's firmware. Also, if anything goes wrong or even if it goes well, official SCs may not want to touch your phone ever again. Bear in mind that firmwares get updated on a regular basis and it's only R1 right now. Just be patient and wait for a later release. You'll get more bang for your $ and time then. |

Actually the current T610 software can input Chinese. If your friend can get T610 firmwares he should be able to get T618 firmwares as well. I think you could flash with T610 firmware though without any problem. |

Well this so called friend is more of a business partner of some sort. I have my own cell phone store and he does the unlocking of phones for my store but it's just that he doesn't want to screw up my phone and end up having to pay for it fully. Because he updated a 7250 nokia with 7250i software hoping to change it to the "i" level but after the update he couldn't turn on the phone again so he's just afraid that because it's relatively the same it might screw up too. He's waiting for the t618 software but i don't want to wait that's why LOL. i'm impatient..! =) |
