Phone locked to single operator |

Hi!
I'm buying a friends T68. He just bought the phone a few months ago. When he bought the phone he subscribed to the Norwegian Netcom services, and so from the info I can find, the phone is locked to this GSM operator one year from the date of purchase... is this correct? and are there any way around these locks? kinda stupid to lock the phone like that when he is not happy with the phone and wants to buy another... because what ever he decides to do, he will be paying the subscription fee to Netcom, and he will be using it in another phone... so either way; Netcom got what they want: A new subscriber.
Any response appreciated.
Thanx |

But are sure that the phone really connected to NetCom for one year?
Isnt it so that your friend has signed a 1 year agreement with them? And the phone can be used in any Network?!

Isnt it so that in Sweden all phones that are sim locked or operator locked is sold together with a refill card?
Not if you sign up for Comviq Joker etc. for 12month - then its me that are locked to Comivq and not my phone?

I called Netcom support and they confirmed: the phone IS locked to their SIM card/their network for one year.
Later today I will test this in my friends phone.
About the "calling netcom to unlock the phone" : Why would they bother locking it i"f they unlock it for a "small fee". How "small" would this fee be?
Sin.

I think Mr.Noodles is right. I have bought supported phones from Netcom and the agreement says you are obligated to pay your bills for a year.
Now -when numberportability is possible -you can't lock the phone. If you buy a one year subscribtion and keep your number, you actually use two different operators with your phone.
Just try a Telenor-card with the phone...

Never mind
I have tested this now and can confirm: The phone is NOT locked. Even though the Netcom CS people said so.
The phone worked without problems with a Telenor SIM card. |

I can provide you NSC, NSCK etc. codes for all versions of t68 and t68i for a small fee but you have to show me proof that you legitimately own the phone. I am from the Philippines. I do not do remote unlocking. I do not do stolen phones. Interested parties can get intouch with me at opent68@yahoo.com |
