I am a mulititime SE user, and I have the T610 but I´ve just bought Nokia 3650, anlong with a IR reciever by the name of Chipy and is from the company Becker & Partner (www.becker-partner.de), but here is the problem, I have no idea about how to get the IR reciever to work. I have installed the Nokia connection software and the driver for the IR reciever but still when I try to send something from the phone, it cannot find the port, I´m really lost here and I really hope that someone here can help me out, I´d be most greatful.
Best regards |

I am using XP.
What do you mean with Sigmtel?? Please elaborate.
Well to me it seems like nothing happens. The nokia connection suite cannot detect the phone, even if I try to send a photo to the computer, and the IR is "on" on the phone....

The 3650.... are you using the PC suite? You shuodl be using the 3650 version.
also in XP go to the infrared port properties and change the driver ... XP shoudl have auto-detected your port but yo need to change the driver they select for you |

go to control panel,
system properties,
hardware,
device manager,
USB controllers... click on the IRDA port and then properties and then chaneg the driver type.
I believe you cna also do it from the system tray, where the items are displayed that can be disconneted. that grey box icon?
sorry i'm using win2000 at work

We might run into a problem here because this reciever is not a USB one, it is a serial one, can that be part of the problem?
I´m very grateful for your help |

win xp should automaticly detect it-no software needed. what does it say under "ports (com & lpt)" in your device manager?

Well the computer says that the port is there, I can find it in the control panel and under device manager, but i´s like I need to enable it, but it comes with no software, I just cannot "turn it on".... |
