I've decided to put a petition forward to Sony Ericsson about the T610 and Bluetooth crackling problem. I've spoken to their customer complaints department again today, and still they are denying that there's a problem. According to the person I spoke to they've had NO complaints logged on there helpdesk about this!
So if you have this problem then please sign my petition.

Please feel free to post this on other boards. The URL for the petition is http://www.PetitionOnline.com/T610/petition.html
More infomation about this problem can be found HERE
Thanks

These petitions really don't carry any weight as was discovered before a few times.
However, I just called SE UK again on this and they did the usual "see your local SE service centre" and if they cannot find a problem send it to Celestica spiel...
Eventually I got through to a manager who gave me details of a technical person at their place (not Celestica) who I can send my headset to for evaluation of the problem.
I did try and explain that everyone is having this problem and therefore any headset they try should exhibit this issue but he was keen for me to send the headset in anyway, so I guess I will do that and see if we can get some sort of result from that.

@Masseur
I've already sent my headset and handset direct to for further investigation.
I received them both back last week with a covering letter saying they found the fault to be with my HBH30 BT Headset and they have replaced it with one from their stores. They have paired both devices and found them both to work with specifications.
I tested them, and the crackle is still there but much worse!
Apon inspection the headset they sent me was manufactured 7 months earlier than the one i sent them, and judging by the state of it, its second hand! There's a lot of inground dirt in the groove where both halves of the casing meets and its scratched!
At least this petition will show there IS a problem. Especially if consumer groups are notified about this. Peer peassure may shame them into doing somthing about it

@bart
Ive tried my HBH30 and a friend of mines HBH35 and HBH60. These have all been tried with 2 T610's and all suffer with the crackling.
I'm not prepaired to go out and buy an alternative make headset as my HBH30 is only about 5 months old. So as far as i'm concerned this is 's problem as both my phone & headset are manufactured by them and are still under warranty |

My HBH-30 also worked fine with my previous 2 T68i and my P800 but crackles with both my T610 although less so since upgrade to R1L firmware.
This is why I have decided to take the initiative and send it to SE (not Celestica) to test.

I've signed it. No harm in trying to make realise there IS a problem with the on the T610. Mine is working better now but no where near as good as my old T68i did.
Makes me sort of mad

@ Masseur
Be warned mate, I've done what your about to do, and I've ended up in a worse situation.
I've written a second letter of complaint to complaints department and am awaiting their official response.
@Bart
When i first contacted about this they told me to send my handset to them and all they did was upgrade the firmware to R1L, which made no difference whatsoever.
If your going to buy a T610 i strongly advise you take your HBH30 with you and test it before you buy it, as it appears not all T610s suffer the problem.

yeah. I read your post in the other thread. Was in Birkenhead you sent it to or Telford?

The first time i sent it off was to Celestica at Telford. As the problems wasn't fixed I had a row with their Customer Advisors on the helpline. I wasn't satisifed with their response so I took it up with customer complaints dept. They advised me to send both items to
Sony Ericsson Customer Complaints Department
PO Box 80
Birkenhead
CH41 1WA
Which I did, but like I said the problem is now much worse, and I've been left with a scabby old 2nd hand HBH30 that crackles even more than the one i sent em.

yeah thats where I was to send it to.
Ok well thanks for confirming that. No point me repeating that same process. Think I will give the manager I spoke to a call and relate your experience to him and tell him I am not interested in doing the same.
I will escalate it to a higher level if I can. He did say in passing that it could be escalated back to Sweden but dismissed that as quickly by saying that I prob wouldn't want to do that!

Well a few hundred won't make any difference...
As I have said before... SE didn't seem to take any notice of the 3757 signatures for the "SonyEricsson T68i upgrade to enable Java" in this petition!.
