Hey all,

after tinkering around with the old HBH-15 about a year ago I was left with the impression that bluetooth headsets were very unreliable and of poor sound quality. Basically I thought that bluetooth was CRAP!

Well this morning I got the HBH-60 through my door, and boy am I suprised! The sound quality is amazing and although I haven't tested it thoroughly the range is great too!

Now, I noticed that SE recently released the HBH-35 with a battery upgrade in comparison to its predecessor, the HBH-30, and I was wondering if there is any news out there for an imenent release of an HBH-65. I love the size of this little beaut and I don't want a boom mic dangling around, but 2.5 hours sounds like it'll need charging every day! If they could bump this up to 4.5 or 5 hours like the -35 then I could most probably forget to charge it for two nights in a row and still get home before it dies.

Any suggestions? Or are they better headsets out there for me to get hold of?

The reason why I returned my BT200 was because of having to charge it so often. The HBH-60 has comparable battery life also, so no go for me. I am looking forward to reviews on the new plantronics m3000 headset.

Here's a link to it at expansys

Claims of 8 hour talk time !? That's the one to buy as soon as reviews confirm the battery life.

Hope that helps!

hmmm...... interesting, 8 hours should mean that we can use it for almost as long as the '68!

I guess time will tell

Here's a quote from Mobile-burn about the life of the M3000

"The Plantronics people swore up and down that the M3000 would get 8 hours of talk time with a Nokia handset. This is important because Nokia handsets use a less energy efficient voice packet type when connected to a headset (called HV1). Sony Ericsson devices, on the other hand, use a different method (HV2) that uses about 40% less power. Phones supporting HV3 could expect to see 2.5 times the talk time of a HV1 device. So if the claims of battery life with a Nokia really were true, we would be talking about some major talk time on non-Nokia phones. Over 10 hours, easily.

Sadly I am unable to verify this. A) I just don't talk on the phone that much, B) my normal test of headset battery life is done with an USB adapter that doesn't support headsets that support both the Headset and Handsfree profiles. The M3000 supports both the Handsfree and Headset profiles, just as the HBH-60 from Sony Ericsson does. But I can tell you that I have used the M3000 for multiple late-night gaming sessions on a single charge. I would estimate that I got at least 6 hours of talk time before I chickened out and recharged it. Suffice to say, after a solid 2 weeks of use I never actually saw the batteries drained. This is not the case with the HBH-60, which tops out at 2.5 hours or so on a T68i."

The fit and comfort however lost to the HBH-60. The full review can be read here:
