Hi,
I had previously used a t68i / T-Mobile GPRS with my T|T. Everything worked great from day 1. I went away from the t68i to a BlackBerry for a little while, and just now got a t616 from Cingular (which is unlocked) and put my T-Mobile SIM in.
I got T-Mobile to send me the settings for GPRS/WAP through SMS no problem, and the phone can access GPRS (T-Zones and other WAP sites) no problem. I got the Palm T|T and the t616 paired up via Bluetooth fine.
I downloaded the latest Phone Link software from Palm, which includes a t610 driver. At first I just loaded the updated driver, NOT the entire application, and SMS worked fine.
After discovering that Phone Link had been updated with new T-Mobile settings etc, I installed that on my Palm and followed the process to get the t616 working for SMS, GPRS, etc.
Now that I've done that, NOTHING works. SMS gives me an error message.
When I try to connect to GPRS with the Palm, the t616 displays "GPRS Parameters Not Supported." The Palm thinks it's connected to the 'net but it's not.
Similar errors occur (on the Palm) when I try to send SMS, but this originally worked, before the new Phone Link software etc.
Seems like if I use the t68 drivers, that fixes the SMS problem (I can send them) but the GPRS isn't working. One thing I noticed, and it may be a Palm problem, but the Palm sends a new GPRS connection to the phone for the phone to use, and it's got the APN incorrect. If I try to change the APN on the phone, the Palm just changes it back again next time I try to connect. Not sure I can even do anything about this without Palm's assistance....
If I can't get this working I'm going to return the t616 to Cingular and order a t68i again. The t68i worked immediately without all this headache.
Any ideas? Anyone help a guy out? Thanks in advance!
