Once I insert my friend's SIM in to my T68 to copy the number from that SIM. When I re-insert my SIM, all SMS messages in inbox, outbox, sent messages, and templates ... are deleted

Do a backup first!!!!!!

This baby backs up everything from your phone via I.R. or datacable.

Surely that is the same on every phone not just the T68? Every phone I have ever had loses sms when SIM card is changed...

I tried it once using a T20 and a T68i.

All the emails in my T20 were also gone but not my numbers!

If it was for security reasons, then I would understand.
But this only happens to the sms, not the e-mails in a t68.
Why delete the sms:s for security, while the e-mails remain?

I think the SMS is stored in another part of the memory then all the other items. I can store about 100 smsses before the memory is full. But then I still can have about 400kb free for pictures, mms and e-mail.

Maybe that explains it a little?

In my old nokia the only thing that was ever deleted was the recent/missed calls list, everything else stayed. I think it is completely pointless to have SMS deleted but everything else remain...

But that's just me...

I have a similar problem... With about 10 SMS messages in the inbox, memory says about 20% full. On three seperate occasions I have turned the phone on and the new-sms icon is flashing. I go into the sms menu and ALL my inbox is gone! Very annoying. The last time it did it the memory after self deletion read as 0% for phone, 255% for SIM !!! Turned off and on again and now both read as 0%.
Anyone else this problem .. any ideas ??
