Just picked up a tmobile packaged/branded phone and am dissappointed with the speaker volume at its max setting. Not sure if this can be addressed with a firmware update. I have it set at its maximum and its too quiet in a loud environment. The ironic thing is the ring volume can be extremely loud out of presumebly the same speaker. Has the in call volume been limited on pupose?? btw im not deaf, have perfect hearing, just using the phone on a train or in a club is a real pain. (i have a t68i also, in comparison volume on that phone not an issue.) firmware revision of t610 - R1H002 prgCXC125-600_US_3

Since the earpiece is placed near the top of the phone, make sure you place your ear to top of the phone so that you can listen to it at best position hence loudest ! The volume is good enough !

trust me when using this phone in such an environment i have the top of the phone (speaker grill) right in the middle of the ear. Maybe its the network gain itself. Have put the SIM in my old T68i and volume is very different. Like i said in the original post the polyphonic ring is extremely loud when i have the phone on my desk, the speaker is definetly capable of better.

ps: on a side note, i noticed youre from Australia, so am i originally Sydney Living in New York now....GSM network in Auss rocked in comparison...would never drop a call when travelling in Australia, here GSM plays second fiddle to Verison CDMA network
