SE, 1010 and one2free (2 mobile companies) held a demostration this past weekend to demonstrate the T68i, the webcam and MMS. So I, a frustrated T68m user without mms went and took a look.

The sales first showed me the T68i and took a picture with the webcam. Then he showed me my first real life, hands on experience on MMS! He let me choose a MMS message from the web and sent it to the phone. I have to say it took pretty long for the MMS to download and open... maybe more than 20 seconds. He said the network is really busy and it was much faster in the morning.

I asked the sales about the T68m upgrade but he said there will be none. However, another guy (higher in grade than the sales) over heard our conversation and told me that the t68m should be upgradable, just dont know if or when SE will release it.

So with MMS now available in Hong Kong, SE shouldn't use the excuse that no network operator support MMS and further delay our upgrade!!

BTW, the phone sell for HK3380 or US433 and its with HK warrenty.

Oh sorry, I forgot to ask since I got the T68m anyway. If I walk by a CSL shop tomorrow I will ask for you.

I think that price is inclusive of the webcam as well. They are bundling the webcam and T68i here in Hong Kong. It really makes me feel I have been ripped off....

Oh BTW, just out of curiosity... how much is the T68m selling in other part of the world now? T68m sell for 2800 here in hk... which is like US360....

I read somewhere the release for the MMS software upgeade was supposed to be Q2 2002. Soon. I bought my phone for $200 (US) with an ATT contract. In a month or two I am going to call customer service saying I am traveling overseas.

just bought the T68i today.. really happy
2 of my friends also bought one each, one was using a Nokia 3310 and the other using a Sony Z5. Both should be satisfied with the fone, from wat i hear. hehe

i bought my T68i for HK$2880 which is an English version with no warranty. One of my friends bought the T68i just about 2-3 days ago for HK$2900 (She bought it when the other shops didn't have it..)

the 8855 is approx HK$3400+ .. i sorta remember seein that somewhere.. but i bet it could be cheaper!!

think that's all i'll say for now!

Yup... you are right...
I checked last nite and the T68i was selling for 3380 without signing up for a service plan and its 2800 with the service plan. Official warrenty.

The 8855 is selling for 3800 without and 3388 with service plan... (official warrenty)

BTW, 3380 works out to appr. USD433 and 3800 is USD487
