My newfound respect for SE.. |

I wanted to add a large file to my phone's memory, and showed that I had enough space. The file was added succesfully, but when I tried deleting some other older files, the phone just froze. I then tried the soft reset, and that was useless. Took the batt out for a while, and still nothing. The phone just stops at the SE welcome screen. I searched this board for an answer, when I learned that I had to send it back to SE, because the phone's memory was full, and it was a known issue. ( if less-than-100kb-left issue). So I sent it to SE USA (Texas service point).
What makes me sad is that they said it was irrepairable. What makes me happy: they're sending me a brand new one. What makes me anxious:
1-the P800 is out of stock (although it's in stock on their website)
2-Will they send a the whole package?: They had asked me to just send the phone itself sans battery, flip, sim or MS. Will they send all these or just the new phone itself?
Anybody know? |

You'll get a new phone without any accessories. The defective one gets sent back to SE. |

Actually I don't understand is this such a problem for symbian developers to write a tool (kind of antivirus) which prevents from writing anything to phone memory as soon as some certain level of memory is filled and gives warning to user?
That definitely would be first one I bought. |

The same thing happened to me last month, just before going on a three week vacation, I thought I would configure my P800's email.. Usually I don't use mail on it, coz the syncro software is so crappy with IMAP accounts atleast. But the fear of being away for three weeks made me hook it up.. And guess what!? - My P800 died, totally nothing would work.. After some hours of twiddling I tried formatting the internal memory (via service menu), well that just made it even more dead (mega dead!)
So I had to bring a T68i on my holiday.. But as luck would have it, they couldn't fix it either, and I got a brand new P800 instead, just the phone + battery, excluding memory card..
It was nicely updated featuring "Night Mode" & "Mute Shutter" in the camera etc... Nicely done Sony Ericsson!! Just too bad it died in such a horrible way and at the worst possible time
