this is sooooooo sad !!
cpl of weeks ago my wife accidently droped our siemens gigaset micro cordless phone into a bucket full of water. We let the phone dry for a day or two and suprisely it worked just fine like nothing ever happened.
Yesterday i had to jump into a pool to fish out this kido who was about to drink the half of the water in that pool.Only after a while i realized that my P800 was lying on the bottom of the pool.Tried rightaway to open it up and to wipe it dry (swiss army knife always in the pocket) but those french b**rds insist to use these star-headed screws , screw them . Since then my P800 is dead , just dead .Wonder if the se service is able to do something , just wait n pray .
P.S. no chance for a fee for beeing such a hero , the kid was my own or should i try to go for a stella award by sewing the pool owner ??

I guess the price of a phone is nothing compared to the life of a child, count yourself lucky |

@tinribs ur absolutely right nothing compares to a live of a child ( not so sure bout some adults tho) thats why i compared the P800 to the siemens and not to the kid . and yes i feel lucky thats why i m making fun of the whole thing . |

yabadabadooooooooooooooooooo its back. its BAAAAAAAAAAAACK!!!
after several days of trying finaly the P800 got back to life.Yesterday i tried once more to switch on the phone and Oh my god it worked. And it worked just fine , everything is there , mstick datas, phonebook ,cam, everything, plus the phone is now clean as new( not a recomended way to clean the phone tho). Only loss is that prolly the speaker (not the one u hear the calls, but all the other sounds ) is damaged, handsfree works fine. I guess service can manage to fix it.

have u got phone insurance cos i know O2 gold insurance 59pound per year covers water damage. cos if u take it to a service centre and say the speaker is buggered they will take it apart and see gree/blue water residue and say you will have to pay for the repair.
but if you have phone insurance you can pay for the repair and claim on the insurance for the cost of the repair but check your policy first |

I wish i had red bout phone insurance only a bit earlier, not covered by now tho. And bad thing is SE service refuses to fix the phone coz policy is not to guarantee work for water damages , so i had to arange an off the record fix with the local se service guy. I only hope he s as good as he claims to be but after all he only has to change the buzzer .
