Personal Jotter is a tool for enhancing input of text on the P800. Over time Personal Jotter will automatically learn your vocabulary and it will suggest completions while you write. This makes Personal Jotter a fast editor for writing e-mail or SMS or other texts. With experience and with a growing database of vocabulary, Personal Jotter can make you significantly faster when writing.

Overview of Features:

Self-learning suggestion system that suggests word completions while you write. Suggestion can be selected from a list that is alphanumerically ordered or from a list that is ordered by frequency of usage.

In case you use more languages than one you can setup several different databases and pick one suitable for the text you are writing.

Auto-copy of text buffer when leaving application.
The editor features Copy, Cut and Paste.
Undo and Redo up to 16 steps.
Possibility to define your own templates for easy entry of things than you tend to write often.
Saving and loading of the text files.
The P800-emoticons can be accessed from a list.
Possibility to remove words from the database.
Length counter.

it seems tricky to use but is well worth the effort,

for those who want T9, this is for more useful.

i have tried to use this but keep hiting the sms icon on the top lefthand corner of the screen rather than going into personal jotter to compose the sms. would be great if there was a dictionary already stored in PJ2 cos if u make a spelling mistake while entering the word for the first time you will always use the incorrect spelling of the word each time it gives you the option to use it.

personal jotter is a great thing at the moment, but not great enough to buy. it's worth to buy if they manage to program it as an alternative input method (p800 seems to be prepared for different input methods). if i could replace/extend the virtual keyboard with the predictive capabilities of pjotter, p800 would take a big leap forward in the direction of easy text input.

I think, it could be worth to buy one if it had ability to edit/save .rtf files (I wrote few years ago simplified Perl script to convert .rtf to html while preserving format: bold, italic, align left/right etc). I think that shouldn't be a problem for serious programmer.

PJotter V2

The latest version is much better and faster. Now that I have started to use this to compile my emails and notes I am building-up my dictionary and it is becoming very useful. It would be nice if there was a small (say 1,000 common words) dictionary that one could load initially into this app.

@Yoeppie

Many thanks - I do remember seeing this.

The dictionary in the other thread on Pjotter is too large for my needs therefore I am going to see if I can reduce it about 1000 or so words.

symbian definitely has room for programming new FEP (front end processors).

There is a flip open FEP and a flip closed FEP.

The main problem is that FEPs load at startup, so they are quite difficult to program and debug.

I'm not sure how much support Symbian provides to FEP developers. I found minimal information about writing FEPs, but some information does exist.

@oferlaor:
are you the programmer of pjotter ?
lately i was dreaming of using an extended version of virtual keyboard, with word prediction like in pjotter. that would perfect. better than t9, better than the handwriting recognition...
i only wish i would'nt be so lame and start programming symbian apps by myself. how much effort is it to go into symbian c++ programming?

@vinnysdad

Are you asking for the reg code so you do not need to pay for the app? Hmm... if we all did this why should developers bother with developing apps if they can't make an honest return? PJotter is sold at a reasonable price.
