Hi all, I got my T610 software upgraded and although the phone is slightly faster all round I've noticed a few glitches:

1. The network bars on the top showing signal keep fluctuating up and down constantly, even if you stay in the same place.

2. When searching the phones memory status under pictures it shows the amount of memory used for a few seconds and then disappears, whilst memory status for everyhitng else such as ringtones, pthemes etc is still displayed.

3. When you switch the phone on it takes a lot longer to boot up than with the R1A software.

Has anyone else got any glitches with the new software, or is the above hapeening to you too?

1. I do see this from time to time but then I also did with R1A

2. Not entirely sure what you mean but when the memory status is first displayed it hasn't calculated the value to display against each label. When it has sometimes it makes the line too long and so has to scroll sideways. Perhaps that is what you are seeing.

3. No noticeable difference there for me.

1. I have seen this! But is this not because of tighter update of signal
strenght? But I can't be sure it's "worse" than before...

2. This is a clear bug! When you view memory status the result for
"My Pictures" actually disappears when calculation is done.

3. I noticed this on the first reboot to.. But it was faster the second
time so this is no change I think.

R1L013 is really stable!!! It hasn't frozen once since I updated the
phone. R1A081 froze 5-10 times in two months time.
Also a couple of other strange bugs which are gone.

I just noticed a really stupid thing.
I'm swedish so I have always used swedish language on my phone but
before answering this question I changed to english.
When you want to write a sms or mms you go into "Messaging".
SMS is called "Text" and MMS is called "Picture"!?!?!?! Why??? This is stupid!!!! First: SMS is NOT only text! EMS is available in the same menu! Second: MMS is NOT only pictures but also sounds, recordings and animations etc..
R1L got a menu name change in the swedish, "Multimedia->MMS".
I think SMS and MMS is the correct menu names in ANY language!!!

What do y'all think?

Technically SMS and MMS are the correct terms. But the average Joe in the street calls it 'text messaging' and 'picture messaging' and phones are marketed using these terms. I guess are just using the easy to understand option, even though there's more to each than just text or picture.

How many average punters know what SMS and MMS stand for?

Yeah my phone boots up fine now, in fact its quicker. I dont switch the phone off and on that much and I noticed it was slow the first time I switched it on after getting the upgrade.

Haven't noticed any more bugs, but did learn about the camera shortcut buttons on this forum thanks to the new R1L software, which are good. Hope the next update increases the speed of SMS a bit more.

Only thing I don't like about my phone is the b@ll@cls 2Mb of memory. Wish there was some way of increasing it, but doubt it due to it being hardware. If SE could develop a way for this to be done it would be fabtastico!

my opinion on this is that it should have been

Applications
Games (or maybe Entertainment)

There is no reason for them to separate java and mophun because the phone should know what is what from the file type (as indeed it does since it can put copied programs into the correct folder!)
