I've just got this phone, and according the manual, just press the cam button and the viewfinder should appear - this doesn't happen 
Just get a brief flash of a white screen, followed by nothing. What am I doing wrong?

Sounds like you need to upgrade your firmware. To resolve the problem for now just turn off and remove the battery and start again.

tried resetting but no good.
firmware is r2df apparently |
