I'm using Outlook 2002 on WinXP on a Dell Inspiron 8500 and am trying to sync via bluetooth. It work for a while, then I started getting a "Error in synchronisation - PIM (Personal Information Manager) Interface failed" message. It syncs my contacts fine, but this message seems to appear when it is trying to sync my calendar.

Anyone had a similar problem, or can someone please help....

I had the same problem, PIM (Personal Information Manager) Interface failed, trying to sync an Ericsson Z1010 via Bluetooth.

What happens is the contacts will update, but the sync fails when it gets to the calendar. To correct the fix is made in Outlook.

1.1 Check for conflicts in calendar
In your PC, open Outlook and go to Calendar.

Open View, Current View and By Category

Press + in each category and look for conflicts . If you find a conflict you need to double-click on the conflicting appointment .

While it seemed to work for me with syncstation via Infrared with the conflicts in place, a support document I have seen suggests the same solution.

Hope this saves people the huge time the fault cost me.
