T68 connector for update? |

does anyone know if the connector for the T68 is the same as for the T28? the thing is, there are no T68s here yet (i got mine abroad); i wrote to sony ericsson to ask where i could get mine updated, and they sent me a list of ericsson service centers here. i called a couple of them, and they of course have no experience yet with the T68. they said i could come in and see if the adapter fits the phone, but i don't want to go there if i know that it won't work. one place asked me if it's the same adapter as for the T28, and that if so, they could probably do it. does anyone know if it is? thanks!  |

same problem here.
SonyEricsson here in toronto doesn't have any T68 or even T39, what a shame.
and yes. I called them too, and they replied the same stupid answer.
Im hoping SonyEricsson would release upgrade software to all service point even the area doesn't have those model
well.. lets hope! |

jack078.... since they have access to the EMMAII server which hosts all upgrades for all Ericsson phones released they can update any Ericsson phone (they just need the right connector, but most Ericsson phones uses the standard connector, like T28/T39/T65/T68/R320/R380 etc)... they either just download the upgrade to their computer, or run the upgrade online, then they can upgrade any phone... |

oh, but the way they answered me, seems to me like they know nothing about that. maybe I should try to teach them with your info in order to get my t68 upgraded done.. lol

cytech's right, according to what they told me, if the connector fits (that's what they didn't know, since they haven't had a T68 to try it out on), they would be able to update the software. and apparently from what i've now learned here on the forum, it does fit, so i should be able to get my software update now (although i'll probably wait until the MMS update comes out...)
