Today I bought myself a pair of rollerblades!
My first pair ever, at the age of 34!
Just imagine what a pair of rollerblades can do to a 34 year old...
I'm just about to start writing my will.

Don't bother with the will, just make sure you're insured! And don't bother about the age - just look at californians: even grannies rollerskate there!

I started at about the same age (41 now) due to the kids getting to the age where they wanted to do it. They're much better than me now but I did do a sprain in my wrist last year, even with the wrist guard on, because I fell quite heavily.
Don't think I have been on the skates since actually!

Just came back from a wee spin on 'em!
Still alive...
I love it!!!
Rather clumsy to start off with but not too ditterent from ice skating I think. Well, falling over would be less painfull on ice I think.
I'M A HAPPY GEEZER!!!

Congrats tranquil!
In Frankfurt every Tuesday evening up to several hundred skaters get onto the roads with a police escort at front and ambulance escort at back!
Its a great sight and can take 10 minutes for them all to pass you if you are standing on the side waiting to cross the road as I was last night!
edit: although in German... here is a link to a site for it!
...and here is a babelfish translation...

My finger?
Ahh... Thats' nothing. Just wacked a 4" nail throug it with a nailgun... Was stuck 45 minutes before I managed to get the nail cut and took a trip to the hospital for them to pull the nail out.
Not even worth mentioning...
Btw.
My wife got really pissed off when she came home from work and saw my new rollers in the hall.

Have fun, but be careful... I broke my wrists last Friday while skateBOARDing off a halfpipe (I'm 15 years old, so it's my age I guess ). FunFact: that shit happened the day before my three weeks vacation to France :| Greetz from France ;)

@tranquil: I dislocated my schoulder the first time on blades, so be careful how to land when you fall..
