Hi, I have a T616 and a infrared port in my laptop. I can send pictures from phone to laptop, but not the other way around. Everytime when a pic in my laptop is ready to send -->
phone and laptop get connected -->
phone asked me if ok to receive file -->
I press "ok" -->
then after a few seconds the laptop told me lost of connections, while I did not move my phone at all.
I don't know if it is a problem of my phone or the IR. Anyone can help? Thanks a lot! |

yup, im having exactly same problem with my k700i,. i can send files from my phone to laptop but not the other way :S
I cannot install the software on the cd that came with the k700i in the box because i have win98SE and it says u must have win2000 or higher :S
I am just right clicking on the files and clicking Send To > Infrared recipient. Is there another program i can use to send files apart from the inbuilt windows infrared one.
thanks for any help

Try slowing down the connection speed between the latop and phone, to something like 36kbps..... that might do something.

It is called "QuickBeam"
here is the url:

Good that QuickBeam works for you, but you shouldn't need a special program to send files by IR. What QuickBeam probably does is it changes the speed and various IR settings for you instead of you going into device manager/BIOS to do it. Sometimes you have have to lower the speed even further, or change the duplex mode, for example.

QuickBeam also installed new drivers onto my computer, so thats what may have fixed it. The starnge thing is though that QuickBeam can send and recieve, but i can only still recieve using the windows infrared one. Strange...

Usually a new driver is required only if you use Windows 2000 and was not patched with service packs. You should try all possible IR speeds (as low as 9600) and various settings. |
