I'm concerned about the radiation levels that are emitted from ericsson's phones. It's rumoured that the radiation level is much more higher then nokia phones. Anyone care to comment? Is there any statistics out there that clearly states the electro magnetic waves emitted by speific phones? |

I have read a test here in Sweden they tested T65, T68 and 8310.
The radiation limit is 2.0 to be ok. T65 got 0.96, Nokia 8310 got 0.82 and T68 got something between 0.4-0.5 so they all pass the test easy and T68 was best. |

I seem to remember the radiation details were available on the sonyericssonmobile.com site. Can't remember where though! I'll try and find it. |

I got a "little" upset when the spectacular radiation figures of the T28 were presented. I was a T28-owner at that time and therefor looked a little deeper into the tests that were done by a Swedish mobile-paper together with the evening-paper "Aftonbladet".
The only situation (tests were done with the phones in several different angles) where the radiation was higher than in other phones was when the antenna was pointed towards the head, in all other angles the T28 had among the lowest radiation (since the antenna normally leads the radiation from the head to get good area coverage, this is the major purpose of having an antenna and I guess this is the reason has sticked to antennas for so long). My old T28 had muck better area coverage than any other phone that any of my friends owned...
The fact that the antenna was pointed towards the head was not mentioned in the papers...
...actually, I tried to use my T28 in the specified angle and it was not an angle that I would recommend from an ergonomic point-of-view either...
One difference between and other companies is that they do not get into a debate about things like this, they rather seem to let things die out. It seems like they have realized that argumentation won't help anyway, the harm is already done independantly of the truth or not...

One of the news in Sweden today is about the radiation levels from mobile phones!
The governmental Swedish radiation institute has revealed the results from an investigation thay have ordered that indicates that the Ericsson phones that had "high" levels in a test last year, actually are the ones that has the lowest radiation levels.
The reason for the high levels in earlier tests have been the test-method, that forced the phones to emitt their signals at their highest effect. The previous tests did not take effect efficency into account.
The new investigation has instead tested the radiation level for a connected phone under specific conditions. Under these realistic conditions the Ericsson phones (and other phones with antennas) had much lower radiation levels than many of the competitors without antennas...
...too bad the T68 is lacking an antenna...

a test with 22 phones from SSI (Statens strålningsinstitut(in Sweden)) lower number is better. T68 not tested =( |
