Has anyone else had Triangle of Death problems with R2F firmware? I got my P800 upgraded to R2F at the weekend by Carphone Warehouse, and within an hour it had crashed. I haven't put any additional software onto the phone, and i wasn't even using it when it crashed.

Did you have software installed on your memory stick? R2B should be very stable otherwise.

Might have had some software on once that I'd uninstalled. Just to be on safe side I've formatted the memory stick. Reckon that will cure it?

Yup I get the TOD a lot on R2F. Usually after using BT and IR extensively. After heavy use I usually turn the phone on and off to clean things up.

I've had my phone back from the service center for a week now, they updated it to R2F and I have not had a single TOD. However I have had a couple of hangups though.

I reckon TOD is largely a memory-related issue; I can almost guarantee a TOD when SMan shows ca. 5MB free memory, and I fire up MIIB - I'll get 5 mins into the game, then KapoW!

Any thoughts?

I guess while we are discussing it, we should call it R2B. The firmware version corresponds to the organizer version and not the phone version. It will reduce confusion in the future as the phone version does not change with each sequential firmware upgrade.

Since formatting the memory stick I haven't had a single ToD. But whats the point of having the bestest phone out there if the minute you install some software it causes it to crash.

I know it's not the phones fault, more likely the programmers of the software. Or maybe it is the phone, who knows.

i have programs installed on both the memory stick, and the phone memory itself... when i first bought the phone, it was with the original firmware, R1D i think?... later on, when i dropped my phone, and broke the cover, i took it for repairs, and they updated for me the software to R2F, and since then, which is around 2 or 3 weeks, i havent had the TOD a single time(TOUCH WOOD)... so i think, but from what i think, is sometimes u try to do things quite quickly, and the phone doesnt gets whats happpening, and it shows TOD... this is from my experience with R1D, becoz everytime i got a msg, i would press read, then reply straight away, and start writing the message with the keypad not the stylus, and it would show me the TOD straight away... when i did this mistake several times, then i used to read, reply and type, with a little break before each step, and it never showed me the TOD again(with the msgs that is) otherwise it kept on showing, but after the R2F update, no TOD YET!!!!
