Question #1:
recently, i have discharged my P800's battery, but while am using my other phone, am planning not to charge it at ALL for maybe around 5-7 days.. will this be really bad for the phone?? or is it good?

question #2:
how often should i discharge the battery, i do once every 10-14 days, is it good??

damn if the answer to both these questions is: " No its not good, am stabbing my baby with my own HANDS!!!"

in my experience it makes no difference at all.
i've had the p800 for 3month and never let it fully disharge.
there have been no problems (touch wood) so far and no real advantages either.
i always charge the fone whilst its swicthed on aswell.

If you leave your battery of for a few days the only effect is that it will a few minutes of charging before the battery will show any signs of life. i left a battery off for a year and it only took 20mins of charge before the fone came to life to let me know the battery that the was even charging. But again i dont think it causes any probs.

The battery in the p800 is a Li-polymer one, this type of battery does not suffer from the problem of ”memory”, this used to happen on old style batters when you keep charging them with out discharging them fully. The “memory bit comes from the fact that the battery no longer remembers if it is charged or not and it needs to be reconditioned by a repeated cycle of charging and draining the battery.
But like I said the p800 battery does not suffer this problem and can be charged as often as you like, but if you do charge it a lot you may see a decline in battery life, then discharging it and the recharging it is a very good thing to do…
Hope this helps

I'd say against discharging the battery, at least if the only reason for that is to get it completely empty before recharging it. Every discharge shortens the batterys lifetime, and thus it's best to try to keep the charge/recharge cycles as few as possible.

For old NiCd-batteries people often bought 'dischargers', which were used to discharge the battery to 0% so it could be charged fully after that. The problem was just that the memory effect is usually negligible, and that the discharger actually damaged the battery when doing a deep discharge of the battery cells.
