My P800 appears to have died |

Although my P800 had experienced a few "Hold the Power button in for 10 seconds" messages, it always came back and worked. Last week, whilst in Spain, I placed it on charge (whilst switched off) and it appeared to be charging normally. Sometime during the night, the "Hold the Power button in etc." message was suddenly displayed and the associated light woke my wife who then proceeded to just put a tissue over the display without touching anything. Next morning, (without knowing this), I disconnected the power cable and noticed that the green LED did not go off. Subsequently, when the power button is depressed, the P800 vibrates briefly but nothing appears on the screen. It will only vibrate once, unless the battery is removed and replaced or the power button is depressed for 10 seconds etc. I have tried to attach it to my PC as I have data stored internally that I would like to preserve but with no success. I would be very grateful for any ideas, tips, etc., etc.!!! Thanks |

Thanks. Will the data stored on the phone still be intact? |

no, you will loose all data you have saved (the servicepoint can't save it either since the phone is dead). |

Do you know of any way whereby I may be able to save the data? |

All you added (pics, apps...) since your last backup will be lost.

Does anyone know what the specific problem is that has caused the P800 to "die"? I must admit I was a very early adopter! |

i know a cure. Whihc will basically do what the service centre do but with out you having to take it there.
Hook up the p800 sync station to a usb port make sure the chargers plugged in to it. take out the battery put it in and then put the p800 on the sync station leave it for a minute something should happen if not push the on button whilst on the cradle. something should happen. if not repeat the steps. when the p800 does turn on it will be shit slow try a backup, it most likely wont work but any way it should freeze take the battery out and put it back in whilst in your hand not on the cradle push the on button and basically keep fiddling with it repeat what i said a couple times it will eventually come up saying internal drive corupted and then it will reformat it self. this worked for me i could have been lucky but who knows give it a crack. |

Thanks for your help but apart from the led changing from green to red and then the phone vibrating once when the power button is depressed, it seems to have departed for P800 heaven! I am well p.o'd, I don't mind telling you...it really makes my blood boil! Thanks again anyway and if you have any other ideas, please let me know! |
