Replacing contacts.cdb |

I made a mistake yesterday by taking a few photos directly onto my internal storage. I had taken out my 128mb Duo and put in my original 16mb as I was using a program I had installed on it. I then went to take a few photos and since it didnt find the folder I usually put my photos into on my big duo, it reverted back to the internal storage. I didn't realise this at the time so I took a heap of photos. I then woke up this morning with the old "Your P800 is low on storage" etc and "Your internal disk is corrupted and will reformatted" etc etc. F*#K that's annoying. I backup my P800 every Monday morning (My P800 reminds me) and since today is Sunday it means I have lost all the data from this week. Again... F@&K! I restored from my last backup and everything went fine until it got to the contacts database. It gave me the error it was unable to copy the file (F^%K I say again) so I set about trying to manually put the file in. I've extracted contacts.cdb from the backup file and I've used all the tricks I've found here to try and put it back but no luck. The tricks I refer to are putting it in flight mode and using File Manager, trying to replace the file during backup, cancelling a backup and trying to replace the file before it restarts. No luck. F^$K!
Please help!
If they fix this kind of S@&T in the P900, in might be enough for me to get one.

It turns out you have to wait until after your PC displays "Verifying Backup Format" as opposed to just waiting until your P800 displays "Backup in progress" for the Contacts.cdb file to be unlocked.
I am still sooooo pissed off and angry right now........
I still have to renistall and setup all the programs I installed during the week, update my calendar, re-add new contacts, etc etc.

dont you have your contacts in outlook or microsoft address book? You could sync the P800 and the contacts will be transfered
Did you try that? |

I'm not sure if you can change the settings, but Outlook changes the phone numbers slightly by adding brackets around the area code and adding a dash instead of a space. So I didn't just want to sync with Outlook. Also if I just did that I would've lost all my pics and personal ring tones and that would've taken a while to put back, actually I would've had to take new photos of people. I'm annoyed enough that I had to redo all my voice commands!
