T610 "Clicker" type app for OSX |

Im looking for something similar to the Salling Clicker. I tried the Salling, but for some reason when i chose to play a song, it opened classic and opened itunes2. I use my 30 "clicks" to try to have it open itunes4 and it still didnt work. So before I want to spend $10 on it, I wanna make sure it works!
I tried one called Romeo, but it seems to only support the T68 series. I found some more that require the SonyEricsson client (which I downloaded, and that didnt find my phone either).
Any Suggestions? Im using 10.2.6.
Thanks

Just buy it - $10 is nothing for this cool program!!
Salling Clicker works perfectly with the T610. Try the forum dedicated to it for your questions about it. The author is very helpful.
I think your problem of it opening Classic iTunes isn't a Salling Clicker problem. I've read about this happening in other circumstances too. It's not recommended to have both versions of iTunes installed (in fact, why would you want to when iTunes 4 is so much better than v2?) |

By default it comes installed, thats why its on there.
If im running OSX, with iTunes4, why would this application search for the itunes in classic.

I use Romeo. According to the site it works only with the t39 and t68, but it works fine with my t610!

Clicker is probably a bit better, but Romeo is free!
UPDATE; Romeo 1.0 is probably arriving soon; just read a message from the creator saying he's working hard on it!

@Sander- : Salling Clicker is used to remotely control your Mac using your Sony Ericsson mobile phone via Bluetooth. You can control pretty much anything on the Mac including PowerPoint, Keynote. However its best use is with iTunes where you can control MP3 play/pause/forward/rewind, select playlists, search for tracks by artist, trackname, album etc. All from the comfort of your armchair and mobile!
@dubweiser: It isn't Clicker that is searching out iTunes 2 - it's the operating system. Clicker just passes messages from your phone to the OS. Try deleting iTunes 2 (compress it in case you need it again) and see if that helps.
Salling Clicker is much more advanced than Romeo, and a new version of Clicker is coming soon too.

@ dubweiser
in addition to all the stuff that JoolsG3 explained, Clicker also has this proximity stuff that allows you to define certain actions on your mac that should be performed when you leave the bluetooth range or come back to your computer (like launch of the screen saver, set away status in Proteus app, pause iTunes, etc..)
@ Sander-
instead of removing the classic version of iTunes it's better to open the info window on a mp3 track, and check the "Open with...". Select iTunes4 and do a "Change all..." to ensure that all mp3s are opened with this app in the future...
Hope that helps! |
