Another T300 query.... |

Recently i upgraded my t300 to R1G, and all was working fine. Today, i tried to send my whole phonebook via IR to my pc and it took bloody ages to complete. As soon as it finished the phone came to a total halt, so i removed the battery and turned it on again. To my surprise i found out that all my stuff along with the predifined stuff were deleted and the whole memory was totally free....No sounds though, no themes, no nothing...What the heck is goin on? Ok, i wanted all the ericsson stuff removed, they were pretty useless, but i'm trying to figure out what happened. Any suggestions? |

Dunno but removing the battery cap is not really recommended.
First try to turn off.
If it really don't work then remove the battery cap.
But I got a few questions about your new firmware
1. Does it works faster than your older firmware?
2. Does it got Calendar?
3. Something new added?
4. How many memory you got now (when deleted the pre-installed stuff)

The phone got slower than before, even though the memory is totally free (1160 kb). I did try to shut down the phone properly but as i mentioned above it had come to a total halt, so the only thing i could do was to remove the battery and boot it again. I asked the SE service department here in athens and they told me that this was the first time they encountered such a fault with this kind of phones, and that they could not even reload the default SE stuff...not that i want them but as i want to sell this phone it must have all the predefined items. I also tried to do a full reset in order to reload all the default stuff but it did nothing, like it had nothing in the firmware to load. I dunno, and the SE service is not taking any responsibility for this, as this is my fault as they said, while all i did was to send all my contacts to my pc so as to have a backup of them for future phones.
As for the calendar that you asked, nothing was added, not even a sound or photo, so i had to send via IR a couple of themes and sounds so as not to leave the phone bare...

So... in short... your phone was flashed and then emptied it's memory all by itself? Sounds to me as if something went wrong with flashing!!! Try contacting another  place and hear what they say about it. Seems to me your service point should have to fix it! 
Other than that.... I gather R1G is really not much of an improvement then? Why should I bother upgrade if nothing is added?

My T300 firmware is R1G. It's have the same problem when sending the whole phonebook to pc. It will take at around 20minute for the phonebook to be sent and work back as normal. And another problem i face is not all contact on my phonebook is send to my pc. |

I got my T300 upgraded from R1B to R1G and it works great! Never had a problem with… R1G deffo works faster. Too bad the joystick counter is removed :(
