Serial Port connection in T610 |

Hi there,
I cannot seem to be able to establish a stable Serial Port connection between my PC and my T610 mobile phone using the 'Phone Monitor' supplied by Sony Ericsson.
I've tried it in different computers, using different Operative Systems (Windows 2k and Windows XP), and using different Bluetooth Connection devices (Digicom USB-BlueTooth adapter and 3COM Bluetooh PC Card).
On both cases, the Serial Port Connection resulted intermittent and thus did not allow for a stable connection to be estabilished with the PC (hence I cannot synchronise with Outlook nor use Image Editor).
I've followed all the instructions found in the manuals, I've installed the most recent drivers around, I've spent two days searching for help in newsgroups and web forums (including Esato), but nothing seems to work.
I should note also that I have a T68i, and I am able to connect this without any problems to both computers, using both Bluetooh devices. It is just with the T610 that I am getting problems. I note also that I am able to pair the devices without problems, and even exchange files. It is just with the Serial Port emulation that I am struggling.
Anybody has any clues about this? Will the firmware solve it?..
Cheers!..
Rui

Do you open the serial port connection manually before you try to synchronize?
When you open a serial connection manually does it remain stable, or does it disconnect?
Have you activated the apropriate ports in the Phone Monitor?

Yes and No. I've tried both ways, to no avail..

it disconnects and connects and disconnects and connects.. it stays intermitent, for which reason the synchronising or Image Editing software cannot detect the phone.. the same does not happen with my T68i, though... (and I am using the most recent version of Phone Monitor software, downloadable from the T160 SE website)

yeap. an tried also all sorts of combinations of settings (reserved, non-reserved, only one port enabled, several ports enabled, all other services disabled, all other services enabled, automatic startup, manual startup, etc, etc..)
I suspect that there is something wrong with the phone's bluetooth capabilities.. the strange thing is that many users have no problems whatsoever, and many others do have them.. difficult to estabilish a pattern here.. |
