I e-mailed SE here in sweden and asked that question about my T610. And the answer is, no, there isnt any future like that :/ I hope that they implement it in a future version of OS. I miss it from my R320, one of the best features so far

damn, too bad. i am thinking of giving it back cause it is missing too many features that my t68 has but this one doesnt. it has less battery life, worse reception, worse screen visibility, and no concrete battery info. can i justify paying 270 bucks for plymorphic ringtones and a crappy webcam which doesnt even support 640x480 resolution? i think not, what do u guys think?

Well if you read other threads on this topic you would find that in general the battery information given in the status display on the T68i was quite often way off and could change by many hours within a few minutes of use. You still have the battery meter which is what you get on most devices with a rechargeable battery.

Why do you want a 640 x 480 cam? It costs much more to send these pics via email (GPRS or GSM) and you cannot display that resolution on the phone. If its to transfer to your pc then why not buy a multi-megapixel digital camera for that purpose?

I think reception is equal or better that my old T68i but yes the screen does have some visibility issues in bright sunlight but on the other hand its fantastic indoors by comparison.

I can't comment on battery life as I stick my phone on the charger ever night which is next to my bed. I can't understand why people are upset if they get 3 days instead of 5 days battery life because surely most people go home each night so why not charge the phone each night as a matter of course? If I am on the road travelling I have a £7 USB charger to charge from my pc.

But I do think you are not happy that the phone meets your needs so let us know what you choose instead.

i did not mean to put down the t616. all i am saying is that i do not see what the t616 has to offer over my t68i that could justify the 270 bucks that i have to pay for it. the camera i wont use, polymorphic tones are an okay feature but not really a selling point for me. i guess i could justtify the money if ill have any luck connecting the t616 to my computer via bluetooth. i never could do so with my t68i. the only thing that i like about the new t616 is the 64k color screen, the looks, and the hope that i can hook it up to my computer via bluetooth. what other improvements does the t616 have over the t68i that i have missed? i really wanna keep this new phone but im trying to justify to myself the purchase ... thats all. the other phone i wanted to get was the nokia 6600 but thats not available yet and it cost a ton of money.

i've noticed that the IR and wap on my t616 is faster than my t68i because it supports HSCSD. it's a more solid phone as well, and it looks professional, whereas the 68 looked girly. and dude, the camera is hella fun!!!
