i got mine from phones4u a couple of months ago for free on a £75 a month contract but the re was a special offer on the contract where it was half price for the first 3 months so for the first 3 months i am paying £37.50 a month and then after 3 months i can change my contract so i will change it to a £15 one or something for the remainder of the contract a.k.a CHEAP P800
i dont know if this offer still applies but it couldnt hurt to ask!

@bigweb

I know that Vodafone would allow the same sort of thing - but ONLY TO UPGRADE the contract, NOT downgrade....

@roygbiv

I paid £250, less £20 trade-in for my old phone.

Contract is £23 per month inc. itemised billing, for Voda Anytime (cross network) 100. 1/2 price for the first three months, + £2 free data per month. I'm payting an extra £9 per month for an extra £18 data. GPRS is £7.50 per MB (eek), but this only drops in price (to £2.50 per MB) when you go to the Anytime 200 plan: I need data, not minutes, hence the option I took.

Steven.

www.etccomms.co.uk seem to be the cheapest...

most places will give you it for free if the tariff is over £70..

£69.95 on £50month

I spent a couple of weeks looking for mine!!! and this is the cheapest i've found.

as for downgrading... usually you have to stay on the tariff for the first 6 months

hope this helps

I paid £350. - £120 towards price of phone my provider gave me to upgrade. - £20 per month, for 3 months off bills. - £30 for my old phone. So, in total I paid £140 AND I still got to keep my totally cool number

@bigweb

Fingers crossed for you - the guy in CPW where I bought my Vodafone contract insisted that only upgrades would be tolerated by the VodaGods. (Yeah, CPW, I know - but this guy knew what he was talking about on everything else....).

i have just had to talk to Orange... they said that you are not allowed to go up or down in the first 6 months... and guy said he is pretty sure it is the same on all the other networks... i trusted him as it's not like they were going to lose me as i can't cancel my contract... but if that's what they said then they will have to reimburst you... do you have any proof??? l would ring voda and ask them... before it's too late!!

use kelkoo.co.uk

I got mine on orange 4 months via cyren-communications.co.uk for £179 on £30 a month tariff

Shop around the web is the cheapest place to buy if you can wait a day or two. The higher the tariff the cheaper the handset coz the retailer gets more comission

Well I got my p800 for about 80 quid on a £30 p/m tariff before they put the price of hansets up. And as for changing tariffs with orange I just changed down to the £15 a month one after 3 months of having the phone and they asked no questions.

As long as you stay on the tariff for 3 months you can then change to what you want!!! Unless it has changed over the last month or so.

Right lets clear this up.
Vodaphone and O2 subcontract their billing, so if you bought the phone from CPW you get CPW Services as your service provider, from Phones4U you'll end up with Singlepoint.
On CPW services you can move down after 6 months, move up at any time. Not working for phones4u I don't know how singlepoint works.
T-Mobile is 3 months before you can move down (still prints that on contracts) although call centres are beginning to say 6 months.
Orange has an unwritten rule of 3 months before moving down but you can normally do it earlier just keep trying, I reduced my Your Plan 200 contract that I got my p800 on 2 weeks after the phone was delivered.
