Does listening to MP3's suck up the battery power? Does anyone know approximately how long the batter will last playing your favorite music? Thanks...
Remember, it's not how far you go....it's how go you far!

I can't say for sure, but it's pretty good. I'd say you'd get about 10 hours of playback if you played Mp3s non stop fro 100% battery until it died. Thats just a guess from my experience. I wonder if Oggs use up more or less power than Mp3s? I use UnrealPlayer for playing Mp3s. I wonder if it uses more or less power than the dodgy standard player? Anyone got some spare time to test this out?

The power consumption while you are listening to MP3s is very low so dont worry about the battery while listening to MP3s!

Listening to MP3's do not cause a MAJOR drain, unless you play at a high volume and through the loudspeaker. However, using another player, like unreal will cause a slightly high drain, due to extra eye candy.

OGG files played with the OGG player WILL consume more battery than the standard MP3 player, due to the more processor intensive nature of OGG file playback.

Finally, regardless of what player you use, you can gain the best battery life, by starting the player and just lettign it play, without changign volume/track/etc. This will allow the phoen to turn off the display and bakclight which are excessive consumers of power.

The the thread below for more tips.
