Hi Folks!
I use my T68i with a Tungsten-T and wondered if anyone here successfully use either CJK-OS or JOS to send e-mail using the Tungsten_T with an English language OS to either :- in Chinese to a Chinese mobile phone or PC or in Japanese to a Japanese mobile phone or pc?
I cannot successsfully use either of these applications to do this.
I can see web pages using both CJK-OS and JOS. So maybe these applications are only for viewing and not transmitting.....
I can also add Japanese in memos and addresses etc......
Interestingly, can send an sms using O2's service called 'mmail' to a Japanese mobile in Japanese using my T-T. I do this by typing my friends e-mail address in the body of the text and then the message in Japanese characters and then send it to 212 which forwards it to the mobile in Japan.
A sample e-mail looks like this :- miki@japanese.mobile.e-mail.address 今日はみき!お元気ですか。 I but maybe this characters will not be able to be seen on these pages unless the viewer has Japanese support installed.
I was told once by Panasonic's mobile support in the UK that the codes get changes as the e-mail passes through the different servers on its way to Japan and sometimes the server does not change it back to the Japanese characters.
But then why can I send and receive successfully from and to my PC in Japanese?
Sometimes using WAP 02 from my T-T the e-mail is sent successfully using the alphabet but sometimes the message cannot be read.......
Any thoughts about e-mail and language codes ...and the transmission of e-mails to Chinese or Japanese devices would be appreciated..
Oh! I know Japanese mobiles are not GSM but PDC (Personal or Pacific Digital Cellular)
thanks!
