I imagine that that's complete garbage. Just think, would you accept the statement - "There is a 40% chance that upgrading from Win 2000 to Win XP will completely and irreversibly fry your PC"...

I don't think so! Find another SE service centre!

If they are a legitimate (official) :s: service centre, then I'm sure you need not worry. If they f**k the phone, I'm sure they'll give you a replacement....

you have warranty on the phone right? Cause it can't be older than a year... then just tell them that you have a problem with the phone, that it hangs in menus and stuff, then they'll have to upgrade the software and if it f**ks up they MUST give you a new one as it is a warranty issue...

Make sure you make a backup before you upgrade though, things can always go wrong and sometimes they have to format the memory in phones...

if it dies it's because the incompetent staff at the servicepoint in most cases when a P800 dies during/after an upgrade it's because the battery wasn't charged before the upgrade...

I don't belive this is true because I have see the divise that conects to the phone and it conects not only to the portconector at the botom of the phone, but also conects to the battery case for suply the phone with power.
Exept of that when I take my P800 for an upgrate to my country they are takeing only the phone the sim, the memory stik, and the battery are given back to me.
Hay to all SE funs p910i is the best. (I am here to help if I can...)
Tecknology mast be top.

it depends on what equipment the servicepoint uses... if they use dummy battery, flash cable with connected charger etc...
