I got a p800 and I'm having issues on connecting it to WIN2K SP3. However, when I connect it to WiN XP it works fine. The problem I'm getting right now is that I can't browse or explore the contents on my phone, win2k detects the phone but just can't explore. Any suggestions?

Well it could be Firewire he's talking about, but I actually assume he's referring to Firewall software.

I don't see how this would affect you browsing your phone though. Maybe he can clarify this?

I have Win 2000 and I use mine fine.

Have you tried any other connection methods: cradle, Infrared, Bluetooth?

phone talks to pc via a tcp/ip connection, so running firewalls can stop it if incorrectly set up.

Hi,

I'm using WIN2k SP3. What version of windows 2000 are you using? I'm trying to connect it over the USB cradle and can't explore it. But when I used XP Pro, it works fine. Any suggestions?

Sorry - I did mean firewall software. The SE software makes extensive use of sockets and therefore personal firewall's such as Zone Alarm can cause all sorts of issues unless you allow access to the local host (127.0.0.1) of *all* of its components. If you are not using a firewall, check the status of your Coms ports in your Phone Monitor Option in the Control Panel.
