Nope,
IR requires operating system to function. Flashing can only be done by cable coz it's sends raw binary data straight to the phone's chips without the need of operating system. |

Is it possible to download the latest firmware over the internet, and install it to the phone yourself. Instead of going to a Service Point.?
One of my friends has a data cable, so i can do it from his computer.

Theoretically yes, but you have to pay someone to use the program to flash that downloaded firmware onto the phone.
