same problem here but it only started doing it 6 months after i got the phone!

sounds like the phone has bad software on it (not firmware)
For p800 software go here http://members.hyperforums.com/viewtopic.php?p=1926#1926

I am using the latest software and I don't think its a bad phone as I installed on a friends computer running XP and it kicked straight in with no problems.
I spent an hour on the phone to the S/E help desk and we went through most things and they couldn't find a solution, looks like I will have to reinstall XP and start again which is a pain as I just got it working as I wanted.

You seen to have a defected GMDA output. You have to flush the oracle software and install a GMO filter.

I think it is something to do with a file called mRouter... every time i install pc suite in my laptop an error messege pops out telling me that a file called mRouter is not found...and the phone seemed to be connected but the phone icone does not appear. I tryed it with my PC and there was no problem so I think that P800 cannot connect with any laptop( I think ).

Excuse my ignorance but what does this mean and how do I go about it?

@All

I had similar problems: a perfect install from accompanying CD, using Win XP Home. After a couple of weeks, the phone was no longer recognized, and shown as disconnected, all the time.

I uninstalled all mobile phone connection software (Phone Suite etc), downloaded version 1.5.1 of PC Suite from the WWW site, uninstalled ALL the PC's USB drivers, rebooted, let the USB drivers autodetect etc. and then installed the new software.

Everything's working as it should do now...

Cheers,

Steven.

Carphone Warehouse told me to buy a new cradle, at£9.00 but no idea when it will be available. I think that phone is fine, cradle is fine, but a missing file/driver is causing this. Gut feel only. Anyone know where you can download the latest usb drivers from? I cant rest until this is resolved.

i tried connecting my phone to 5 different XP computer and worked just fine
But very rearly if i remove the phone and place it back quickly (Less than 2 sec's) it sometimes doesn't recognise it, the soloution to that is to remove it for about 10 secs the place it back.
i never used the software on the CD i installed 1.31 , until 1.5 directly
