Guyz i bought a P800 on orange and had it unlocked but now i want the firmware updated , the guy at the Se service centre said they could update it but it will lock again ??
Is this true ???

the provider lock is not affected by an upgrade... if it is unlocked before the upgrade it is unlocked after the upgrade as well. |

I had my Orange P800 updated by EuroComm in Blackpool yesterday.
Great service and all is fine - no problems at all. The P800 is now on version R2F, which I assume is the latest.
I asked the man in the shop about how the firware was upgraded. He told me that they upgrade using s/w from the SE web site using a special data cable. So it seems upgrades could be self service but SE do not want us to use this facility - why?
