Sorry guys.. having trouble getting into service menu |

Ok, now i feel like a complete twat. I have accessed the damn thing before, and i was just reading a forum article and decided to have a look in the menu (having mic troubles). So i type in the keycode. No joy. assuming i ahve the wrong keycode i do a search. Find the same keycode several times:
>*<<*<*
I am doing this with the background picture present (i.e. not in any menus). I push the joystick right and... I enter the menu with phonebook selected. I press the joystick and i enter my address book. i dont want to do that! I end up looking at my contacts??
I feel like an idiot. what have i done wrong? I know i have accessed the menu before, cant remember how i did it, but defiantely used the same keycode.
any help would be appreciated! I am desperate or else i wouldnt have shamed myself by posting this! | |

dont press the joystick in, after moving right, press the * key (the one below 7)
you should never actually leave the main menu, the one with the icons, until the secret menu appears |

Yup i am definately a muppet.
Thanks mate, i dunno where i got it into my head that the asterix meant to press the joystick

yeah, it is a bugger when your brain leads you into doing things you dont want. Kind of like theres some higher power
