Has anyone else had this error message when trying to copy some files (e.g. AudioJack's High Quality patch set (482K) - NPATCHES.HSB) to either the P800's internal memory, of the MSD?
I've had this problem with a couple of SMSPlus SMS ROMs too...
Help!
Steven.

I take it ur using the standard file transfer software that comes with the P800 datasuite??
Well... if u are this program doesnt let u copy files to the phone that it thinks the phone won't be able to understand (ie only known file types are accepted). Ive had this problem with ROMs and OGG files already.
The only way Ive found to get around this is to change the filetype of the file your trying to tranfer to an accepted one by changing its file extension (eg .txt or .mp3 or .wav or .jpg - i think some filetypes are only supported in certain folders also, though i could be wrong). It will (should) then transfer. Then, using file manager (qFileManager or equivalent) on the phone, change the filename back to its original using the rename option.
Everything should work file then.
Hope this helps....

@LLOYDY
Bingo! That seemed to do the trick. Definitely certain file-extensions to certain areas of the phone's memory.
I used filemanager to get around the problem, having got the renamed file onto the phone via the syncstation.
Thanks!
Steven.

There is a file manager PC version available,
This will allow you to put any file into any folder no matter what the extension.
It also allows you to view the system folders from your PC.
The fact that nobody understands you doesnt mean that you're an artist |
