Hi there,

Having installed various apps/games etc., and then uninstalled the useless stuff, I see that there are numerous folders left behind, containing small files that combined, are probably taking up a lot of space.

Can I just use filemanager to delete them? (Just wondering as to why the uninstall left them behind - is it to 'stop' repeated reinstallation of limited usage software?)

Steven.

think it depends totally on which program it is.. be more specific.

Ive spent the last 20mins trying to get a duff ir remote to start working again.. looking for any residual file it's accessing.

No luck as yet..

Mostly just games - it's just that after uninstall, I was surprised to see how much debris was left!

i was deleting some residual files in c:/system/install, and it caused a couple of problems. now when i download a .sis file in opera, it wont recognise it as an installation file. it also wont recognise an mp4 file. neither a master reset or an internal disc format restored these lost file(s).

be careful what you delete!
oh, and if anyone can list the contents of their install folder, id be most grateful!

Using File Manager:

Logs (empty folder)
Booster.sis
Champ-hearts-Ins... (apparently a corrupt file??!!)
ePsiNT_en.SIS
ePsiNTHelper.SIS
install.log
jAipP800.SIS
MIDIBO~1.SIS
miniGPSUiq_EN.sis
QFILEM~1.SIS
sman11a.sis
Tube.sis
TubLon.sis
uiqreader.sis
vwr_filters.SIS
WORLDM~1.SIS

Hope this helps....

Steven.
