hi

sometimes i use my phone to send sms to people that have foreign phones, so i have them stored in my phonebook with "+landcode their number". when i recieve sms from them t610 just shows their number instead of showing the name that is stored in phonebook. (phone number is exactly the same as the one that is stored under their name in my phonebook) same thing happens when i send sms to them and look at sent mails. Anyone else noticed this bug? should i try reporting this bug to se or should i just wait and hope that they will fix it (or maybe they already fixed it in R1L)

there is one more bug that i noticed but it is not as annoying as the one i mentioned above. if you have someone in your phonebook and that person has 2 cellphones (one workphone and one private) and your recieve sms from this person you can not tell from which phone sms was sent, thus you are forced to send 2 sms instead of 1.

i talked today with SE and they told me they never heard of this bug.

i asked them if this is going to be corrected in future and the guy i talked to told me that he was going to see if they could reproduce this.
somehow i doubt that they will do anything.....

did u enter their numbers manually?
u tried deleting them from the phonebook then using the save number function when u recieve and sms/call off them?
dunno if that would make a difference but worth a try

actually SE guy told me to try that, because he told me sometimes this problem appears because numbers have been entered on some other phone. but i had entered all numbers on my t610. i even tryed to reenter them and it didnt help....

another bug i noticed when it comes to sms, is that if you recieve sms from number 123456 (or some other number) and then store that number in your phonebook and call it ABC (or some other name) sms is going to have ABC as sender. now if you go into your phonebook again and change ABC into CBA (or something else) and go back into sms menu, sms is still going to have ABC as sender. it seems t610 is not comparing phonebook with numbers every time you enter sms menu. imo it should do it every time you get into sms menu.

hmm, I think I've had a similar problem:

I had a friend of mine's number stored on the phone with almost the same name, only difference was the country code ( +XX) was missing on one of the stored numbers, which resultet in the phone being confused and just displayed the number, It's a problem easy to reproduce, and happens regardless whether the message is sent from overseas or not...

fsck.... then they are probably not going to be fixing this problem. i bet it would make entering sms menue even slower and that is the reason that they are not going to correct it....
