the mp4 file normally has a size larger than the size that can fit in p800.so whenever i transfer the movie into p800, i will only be able to listen to the sounds but not the graphics?is there any software can fit this problem?can convert the mp4 to a smaller size..i mean a really 'small size'..i remember p800 only can read a small size of movie,roughly about 1xx X 1xx...how can i fix this?? |

Well as MP4 is heavily compressed I think you're going to be hard pushed to get it smaller other than taking out the sound. Of course you could reencode it with an even small resolution, or with a lower sample rate on the sound or even reduce the kbit/s of the movies bitrate. This can all be done with mepegable x4 live. |

no..i have enough space for movies.but just the movie is too big..i mean the dimension is too big.is larger than the p800's screen..so i couldnt see the graphic..but only the sounds.. |

like i said, reduce the movies resolution, though you'll have to use virtuadub for that. |

what program do you use to convert your MPEGS to MP4? if you use PV author, I can send you the Profile Optimized for P800. Just post your email. |

just use pvauthor or quicktime to make mp4's. both have the correct profile for the p800. in fact, quicktime has the 3gpp standard and it works beautifully. i get a 22 min file in 12 mb!

You need 2 things installed for QuickTime:
* QuickTime 6.3
* The 3GPP plugin from the Quicktime site
Then you can just export to 3GPP - works perfectly. If you need higher quality, then use Discreet Cleaner 6 for export; if you update QuickTime with new components like 3GPP, applications like Cleaner can take advantage of these new codecs automagically! |

I'm sorry for asking such a lame question, but I'm really confused!
To create mp4 and 3gp content with QuickTime, am I right in thinking that I need QuickTime PRO 6.3, rather than just bog-standard QuickTime? And I have to pay for QT Pro but not bog-standard QT?
And I also need to download the 3gpp component as well (which is free?)
Cheers guys. |
