Hi,

This issue is most important to me. I need to know when I delivered my SMS messages and I've noticed this phone doesn't do it.

Many ammounts of mountains of thanks in advance to any who can help here.

Cheers,

KW.

At the start of your SMS message just type *0#

I've tried the trick, and used *0# at the start of the SMS message and/or the phone number.

None of them worked in my SE T610 or in my Siemens SL45.

Just wondering what I am doing wrong.

Many thanks in advance,

K.

If you're on Orange UK, try 'RCT' before the message. ~Eva

I am on Vodaphone at Spain, don't know if that helps.

Also on MoviStar (Telefonica) at Spain.

I didn't knew it was an operator trick, I though it depended only on the phone.

If you could help me with this I'd truly appreciate it. Thanks a lot.

Wot do you get when u go into messages->text -> options -> status reply? If this is set to on u will get a short message when the message has been delivered. But it won't tell you wot time it was delivered. If this is set on, when you look in your sent items each message will have a green tick if delivered

Hope this is wot you need.

SMS delivery receipt is an network service. Some operators disable it - to reduce their SMS traffic as a delivery receipt is still an SMS msg that they do not get paid for. Call your operator and confirm with them. Normally, if the operator has it enabled, all you need to do is enable delivery receipt in your phone - most phones now have this option (though most notably, initial firmwares on P800 DID NOT, and even now, it cannot be set as a default, only on a per msg basis).

I tried various codes to get delivery receipts on my O2 sim in the UK, and it never worked.

Btw, I reread your post, and am a bit confused now. Are you trying to get the delivery receipt, or the actual time you sent a message - cos now that I look in my Sent Items folder, I see it doesn't shwo the time or date - JUST The recipients name - really stupid of SE. Also, if you sned a msg to multiple recipients, you get a delivery receipt from only one of them. the rest dont even get listed in the sent items folder. Anyone got a work aroudn for these 2 problems?.

Basically what is meant is:

When you get a receipt is doesn't have the TIME that the message was delivered. If states it was delivered but not when. This ISN'T provider dependant. The delivery message is simply sent to your phone and then the phone should tag what time is was recieved.

On the T610 this is not the case. I would be most interested on how to achieve this also.

Cheers. T.x

This is completely true as I've tried it many times. SE T610 doesn't timestamp the message.

But also - I just wanted to timestamp outgoing messages when I'm sending them, I don't want receipt confirmation.

Why?. I'm sending SMSs to Cuba and there I don't know wether this works or they charge the reveiver of the SMS (and trust me, when they charge something there, they DO charte: arround 1 US$ / SMS from Cuba to Spain, arround 0.08 US$ / SMS from Spain to Cuba).

Thanks again.

@ KarlW: i'm on Vodafone (Connex) in Romania. The code they use here is *NO#. You just have to put this code in the beginning of a message and you'll receive another message with the message identification number and when it has been delivered. Hope this helps.
