Sorry, I need some words to explain this one I found out today.

After some Tim-the-Toolman-Taylor "carkit improvement" I've connected my old HCA-10 carkit to the HCH-28 car holder. Although the connection between the holder and system cable doesn't really look great it seems to work ok. Just for the info, also have an advanced music mute installed.
Radio mutes when call comes in or magic word is said.

Here comes the problem:

When I click my t68i in the holder and say the magic word, the radio mutes and the phonedisplay tells me it's ready for my voicecommand. When I say a recognized commmand, the phone dials the number without a problem. HOWEVER, when my phone doesn't recognize the first command after the magic word, the radio switches on again and I can say the magic word 100 times, it doesn't respond anymore. When I lift the t68i out of the holder and put it back in, a pretty dangerous action during driving when de hch-28 is new and tight, it does respond on the the magic word again
The phones seems to have reset it's voice control circuit or something.

As long as I use correct and recognized voicecommands the phone works okay, one mistake and the voicecontrol functions are out of service.

For carkit users this can be a real dissapointment.

Any comments anyone??

Also found out something positive today, switching input methodes during sms took some time with t68m (r2a013) because you had to press and hold the # key to surf through the different input methods (Dutch, English, abc...123...)
With the t68i, just press and hold the # and a menu pops up where you can select input method immediately.

Hello Arthur,

It sounds like your talking about an old carkit type (4 volts platform)
This type does not work with the modern R320, R380, R310, T28, 29, 39, 68 etc because the voltage (3 volts) is different. The type carkit you should use is the HCA-20 with the correct cable & holder for the T68. So watch out do not connect your T68 any way with these old type carkits. It distroys the power circuits and SE will not service this.

I have the model before the HCA-20, the HCA-10.
The HCA-20 is the base for a modular system. With the HCA-10 came a carholder and system cable in one that fits the t28/t29/t39. If you remove a little cover in this holder you can "enlarge" the holder an it then fits the R320/R380 and R520.

What I did was removing the screws at the underside of the holder and then I could split the system cable from the holder. With some black tape I've connected the systemcable to the official T68 car holder the HCH-28. Because of the black tape it doesn't really look nice, but it works okay. Except for the magic word bug of course which i still haven't been able to fix. I can't imagine this problem is caused by the carkit, I think it's the new T68i software (again.........)

You have to upgrade to the latest version. Then everything will work fine.

Hey guys
I have the HCA 10 and with a little work with a Dremel it's really no problem shaping it so that the T68 fits. Same connectors.

Hey Guys,

Does anyone know the difference between the HCA-10 and HCA-20? Also, is the T68i compatible with both of these?
