Getting rid of Vodafone Live |

My other half and I have T610's on Vodafone UK. I have successfully flashed the firmware on both phones using the software and firmware from www.sonyericcsonserver.com and it worked!!! I have got rid of 95% of customisation - the only thing which still exists are some of the original pictures and themes. But apart from that the soft keys are back to the way they should be and the icon are as SE intended. You will need to purchase the firmware and a T28 cable. Make sure the cable is the unlocking variety (m bus - i think) and NOT just the standard data type as these don't work.
On the other issue of the BT headsets - I have purchased the HBH-60. In my opinion its pot luck if it works correctly or not. The one I have does crackle a little but its totally usable and better then the four HBH-60's I tried before finding one that worked. I spoke to a senior repair person at the Vodafone shop who told me Vodafone has agreed to flash phones for free WITHOUT Vodafone customisation if the customer requests it. Before you all go out asking for it - he said they have not been given the final go ahead to start flashing - he said it will take a month or so. I did believe him as he was in the middle of flashing a P800 with normal non-customised firmware as he had been given the go ahead from head office to do this on these particular models.
Hope this helps. Its a little scary doing the firmware update but worth it!! Ignore the previous posts about not being able to do it at home. I have and on two phones. And it worked! Sorry Vodafone  |

Waheedhome, how did you pay 'sony ericsson server' when purchasing the firmware to unlock the T610? I try to use PayPay but keep receiving error message "This recipient is not yet registered". If you used PayPal then what e-mail address did you use to pay them?
I've tried emailing sony ericsson server but they don't reply!

I paid using a Visa card and not Paypal so I can't help you there I'm afraid. I did however find the communications to be fine. They answered all the questions I had - so try again! Its probably a good thing you couldn't pay for it as the new firmware is out!
Good luck and try it with a normal Visacard - Paypals fee's are a rip off anyway! |
